So, I think it’s pretty clear that Liverpool won’t be challenging for the title this year. They will be battling the likes of Chelsea, West Ham & Everton for 4th place, that’s if they improve their current form.
Liverpool have lost the last 3 home games and haven’t won at home in 5. With shock upsets coming from Burnley & Brighton, including a bore draw with West Brom. Not to mention the devastating defeat to title favorites Man City on the weekend. This could be the worst title defence in history!

Strange to think how this Liverpool team can go from 68 unbeaten home games to this…But if you’re a Reds fan I wouldn’t worry too much, form is temporary.
Liverpool have suffered with injuries this season with the likes of Van Dijk & Gomez being left on the sidelines. Their star goalkeeper has been in & out of the squad with injuries, although they may have wanted him out for the last game with Allison making several individual mistakes leading to goals.
With the 2 preferred centre halves being out it has brought younger players into the squad and Klopp’s decision to move both Henderson and Fabinho into defence hasn’t gone to plan. With the captain playing at the back, it has left holes within the midfield. While Thiago is a midfield maestro, he isn’t on the same wave length as the others yet, he still needs time to settle into English football.

Klopp’s recent comments in the media towards Man City would have left a negative impact on the team. Jurgen seems to be finding any which way possible to make excuses and not take responsibility for the worst run of results in years. This is unexpected behavior from the gaffer as the german boss is usually a lot more understanding.
I could carry on digging out individuals but at the end of the day it’s the team as a whole that needs to step up and start churning out results before Jurgen Klopp’s job is on the line. If I were Liverpool I’d dig deep and battle for a Champions League spot then look to re group for next season before more embarrassing results come their way.
