The 2020-21 season has certainly been off to a good start with lots to talk about across the board. Let’s check out our top contenders to take home the PFA player of the year award. Kick starting with…

İlkay Gündoğan
Manchester City have been phenomenal so far this season with most of their results driven by the 30-year-old German. Gündoğan has been piling up the stats both in the Premiership & Champions League, take a look:
Premier League: 19 appearances with 11 goals & 1 assist
Champions League: 6 appearances with 2 goals
One to put your money on if his form continues.
Next up we’ve got…
Harry Kane

Despite Tottenham’s in consistent form, the England skipper has kept them in the mix. Harry Kane just keeps on producing year in year out, the bloke deserves a trophy soon! Or he’ll be off to Madrid. Let’s check his season stats:
Kane has scored 13 league goals with 11 assists making him the top assist maker in the league so far. He’s also performed exceptional numbers in Europe with scoring 6 in 6 matches keeping Spurs in contention for a European title.
And finally…

Bruno Fernandes
Mr. Bruno Fernandes or should I say Mr. Manchester United? Its safe to say without him they would be much worse off. The Portuguese star has settled in well since signing for the Red Devils back in Jan 2020, a great first full season indeed.
Fernandes has steered United to 2nd Place so far with scoring 15 goals and making 10 assists from midfield. With only the 1 match in Europe he still managed to beat the keeper twice!
Bruno is probably the bookies favorite, but he’s scored 7 penalties! Which is unusually high compared to others, will the FA take that into account before naming the winner?

There’s still a lot of football yet to be played so who knows who will take home the gold.
Other dark horses include: Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Son Heung-min, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Maddison.
